Master the art of creating 3D models through natural language
Writing Effective Prompts
The key to getting great results with Ragnar is being specific and providing context. The more information you give about dimensions, purpose, and requirements, the better your model will be. Don't worry about using perfect technical terms—describe it how you naturally would, and Ragnar will understand.
Prompt Writing Principles
Working with Measurements
Ragnar uses millimeters (mm) as the default unit. You can specify exact measurements like '50mm diameter' or let Ragnar choose appropriate dimensions based on your description. For other units, simply specify them: '2 inches wide' or '10cm tall'. If you don't provide measurements, Ragnar will select sensible defaults based on the object type and purpose.
Example Prompts - From Simple to Complex
Create a cube
Create a 50mm cube
Create a hollow box, 100mm x 60mm x 40mm exterior, 3mm wall thickness, open top
Design a laptop stand that elevates the screen 15cm, has ventilation slots, and a cable management cutout on the right side
Make a parametric gear: 24 teeth, module 2, 20mm face width, with a 12mm center bore and 3mm keyway
Refining Your Design
After Ragnar creates your initial model, you can refine it through conversation. Say things like 'make it 20mm taller', 'add rounded corners with 5mm radius', or 'create a hole for an M6 bolt in the center'. The AI remembers the context of your conversation and will modify the existing design accordingly.
