Working with AI

Understanding how to work effectively with Ragnar's AI

Having a Conversation with Ragnar

Ragnar isn't just a tool—it's like having a CAD expert at your side. The AI remembers everything in your current chat, so you can build on previous requests naturally. Say 'make it bigger', 'add a hole there', or 'actually, let's try a different approach' just as you would with a human designer.

What Ragnar Understands

Ragnar has built-in knowledge of:

  • Standard parts: Bolts, nuts, gears, bearings - just name them
  • Manufacturing: 3D printing, CNC, injection molding constraints
  • Materials: Properties and typical uses of common materials
  • Engineering standards: ISO, DIN, ANSI specifications
  • Functional requirements: Load bearing, fit tolerances, assembly needs

If Ragnar isn't sure about something, it will ask you follow-up questions to ensure it creates exactly what you need.

Chat Memory and Context

Ragnar remembers everything in your current chat conversation. This means you can:

  • Reference previous parts: 'Make another one but 10mm wider'
  • Build incrementally: 'Now add a mounting bracket to the top'
  • Correct mistakes: 'The hole should be on the other side'
  • Change your mind: 'Actually, let's make it circular instead'

Note: Each chat is independent. Starting a new chat means starting fresh without access to previous conversations.

When Generation Doesn't Go as Planned

This is our initial release, so occasional hiccups may occur. We're actively optimizing to minimize these. If something goes wrong:

  • Try rephrasing: Sometimes a different description works better
  • Be more specific: Add more detail about dimensions or requirements
  • Break it down: For complex models, build in steps rather than all at once
  • Start fresh: If needed, start a new project for a clean slate
